DAVID BANTA, AIA
Senior Project Manager and Partner (Washington, DC)
David has been involved in the Senior Living sector since 1999 and has been at the forefront of industry discussions through his affiliations with the AIA Design for Aging Knowledge Community, Environments for Aging (EFA) Conference, and the American Seniors Housing Association (ASHA). Throughout his career, David has developed an astute understanding of the evolving global trends amongst seniors, and he has applied innovative principles to a range of communities, including independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care facilities. Additionally, David has successfully managed the planning and design of affordable housing and retirement communities, for senior living developments, and multifamily residential projects. He’s also consulted as an Owner’s representative during the construction of two Life Plan Communities, and with the aging process being universal, David has consistently been invited to give educational and thought leadership lectures nationally and internationally.

CRAIG CARTER, AIA, LEED AP BD+C
Public Safety Practice Leader and Partner (Chicago, IL)
Craig has over 21 years of experience in architectural design, documentation, and construction administration with a focus on public safety projects. Craig has worked on more than 70 fire station projects and has won several design awards celebrating the functionality and beauty of the projects. He is one of the few recognized firematic experts in the county and is an expert in the detailed requirements that enable these buildings to be effective tools for their users. By virtue of his experience and his ongoing research, he combines a deep knowledge of the history of fire station design with an up-to-date knowledge of the latest national trends. With a family background in public service, Craig understands the culture of local government and strives to create an excellent working relationship with his clients through his fun, upbeat and friendly manner. Craig’s design philosophy centers on using data-driven decision making to create beautiful projects that are functional for their users, economical to construct, and sustainable far into the future.

COLLIN KOONCE, PLA, LEED AP BD+C
Urban Design & Landscape Architecture Leader and Partner (Dallas, TX)
Collin is a thoughtful urban planner and landscape architect who has designed built works for the last 10 years, including public and private exterior spaces internationally and throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Collin has a diverse experience leading and delivering projects including large-scale, mixed-use developments, urban scale parks, civic plazas, ecological restorations, and culturally significant sites. He has a talent for creating opportunities out of constraints and composing high quality exterior spaces that bring immense value to each community, neighborhood, or urban space that he designs. His default collaborative personality and expert communication skills allow him to build cohesive and unifying projects that reflect the resilient and equitable future he envisions for our public spaces and cities.
