This year, the event was held in Atlanta where BKV Interior Designer, Courtney Opheim, represented our firm, joining an inspiring gathering of architects and designers dedicated to shaping the future of the industry.

As part of our commitment to elevate and empower staff, while providing numerous options for professional development, we nominate a BKV team member each year to attend the annual Women’s Leadership Summit hosted by the American Institute of Architects (AIA).

Over the course of three days, Courtney gained valuable perspectives on leadership, communication, and purposeful design. The Summit also reinforced that impactful design begins with bold ideas and authentic collaboration, and that true leadership is built on empathy, transparency, and the courage to grow beyond comfort zones. Courtney said she left the conference “feeling inspired to bring new principles back to her work while continuing to create environments that empower people, elevate stories, and make a meaningful impact through design.”

Cheers to Courtney for being our AIA WLS representative this year, and thank you to AIA for hosting!
