BKV Group seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer with 8+ years of HVAC and Plumbing design experience to join our Washington, DC office in Georgetown. The candidate must have engineering experience in all aspects of design and documentation with leading edge multi-family housing, commercial and local government clients. Responsibilities will include the following:

Provides senior mechanical engineering and design leadership to BKV Group.

Project related responsibilities for the mechanical/plumbing systems design include the following:

  • Lead and manage HVAC and Plumbing engineers and designers.
  • Develop and manage project work plans.
  • Responsible for the systems selections, basis of design and quality of the work product.
  • Attends projects meetings and communicates effectively with project team members.
  • Represents the mechanical discipline at client meeting and effectively communicates with the client as needed.
  • Coordination of the mechanical/plumbing design with the other project disciplines and the Project Manager.
  • Construction Phase support including submittal review and RFI response.

Technical Leadership responsibilities include the following:

  • Mentoring and developing engineering staff.
  • Maintaining and developing mechanical/plumbing standards in collaboration with senior engineering staff.
  • Assisting the Mechanical Discipline Lead and Director with mechanical/plumbing work product quality control.
  • Acts as a senior mechanical engineering and design resource, provides assistance and guidance to project engineers and designers in both HVAC and Plumbing design.
  • Confers openly and directly in a respectful and professional manner with other personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develop design.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of focused mechanical/plumbing design experience.
  • Mechanical Engineering Professional license
  • Experience with Revit and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Trane Trace load calculation software
  • Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the general public.
