Job Description
BKV Group seeks a licensed Electrical Engineer II with 5 – 10 years’ experience as a licensed professional to join our team in Washington, DC. The Electrical Engineer II serves as project lead or secondary Engineer with guidance from the engineer of record. This position develops technical design and documentation of electrical solutions from schematics through construction administration on a variety of building types across all market sectors. As a member of a collaborative multi-disciplinary team focused on total design solutions for our clients, the Electrical Engineer II is responsible for managing projects, providing technical expertise, and leading team members.
- Engineering design of the electrical infrastructure, power distribution, communication, lighting and controls, and emergency power systems, etc.
- Prepare complete and comprehensive plans, schedules, and details utilizing Revit software for the electrical construction documents. Coordinate the electrical Revit model with each discipline for a complete and coordinated 3-D model and 2-D drawing deliverable as required at each phase of the project.
- Review and approve contractor submittals, respond to RFI’s, and provide necessary support for the electrical discipline on projects during construction administration phase.
- Attend OAC and other client meetings as requested; conduct building site assessments and produce required write-ups on existing conditions and recommendations; attend project punch-lists at substantial completion and submit required punch list documentation and field reports, etc.
- Responsible for completing work in a timely manner on assigned projects within the scheduled hours.
- Provide mentorship for Engineers in Training and Designers working on assigned projects.
- Maintain a free flow of communication with the electrical engineering staff on assigned projects, as well as the other team members relative to the activities on assigned projects. Confer openly and directly in a respectful and professional manner with all colleagues to develop, clarify and resolve innovative design solutions across all disciplines.
Qualifications
- Must have Electrical Engineering degree from an accredited university.
- Professional license required; 5 – 10 years’ experience as a licensed professional. Prior experience with A/E building design engineering required.
- Proficiency with Revit required; basic knowledge of BIM 360 and Microsoft Office programs.
Compensation range: $125,000 – $135,000 annually, or commensurate with experience.
