BKV Group Hires Shaney Mullen as Development Managing Partner for Dallas Practice Site

BKV Group has announced the addition of Shaney Mullen, AIA, as Development Managing Partner for its Dallas practice site. An industry veteran with more than two decades of experience, Mullen will support BKV Group’s continued growth in the Sunbelt while also expanding the firm’s national hospitality and mixed-use platforms.

“In addition to being an accomplished architect, Shaney is a natural leader who is proficient in team building and cultivating client relationships. His experience and connections in the hospitality sector make him eminently qualified to head up our growth efforts in that area as he also contributes to other BKV projects spanning multiple property sectors.”

Mullen brings 20-plus years of experience to BKV Group, most recently working as an Associate Principal with WDG Architecture, where he focused his efforts on client development and engagement, project acquisition, and execution—from conceptual planning through occupancy—for urban multifamily, mixed-use and hospitality projects.

His design portfolio includes prominent developments in numerous markets, including the Marriott Nashville, a 20-story, 442-key hotel in Nashville, Tenn.; Willamette Tower, a 23-story, 343-unit mixed-use development in Portland, Ore.; and the Marriott Uptown, a 14-story, 255-key hotel in Dallas that won a LIV Hospitality Design Award in 2021.

“I’ve admired BKV Group’s unique and accomplished culture of collaboration, both with clients and internally among the firm’s practice areas, which invariably results in the successful, transformational urban projects for which the firm is so well known,” said Mullen. “I’m eager to contribute to that legacy as we pursue work in the hospitality sector and beyond.”

Mullen holds a Master of Architecture from McGill University in Montreal, as well as a B.A. in architectural studies, B.S. in construction management and Certificate in Commercial Real Estate, all from the University of Washington. He is also a member of the American Institute of Architects’ Dallas chapter.
