Affordable Housing Practice Leader

Job Description

BKV Group seeks an Affordable Housing Practice Leader (TX) to lead and support our regional Affordable Housing market.  This position works closely with our Senior Design Leaders, Partners, and Senior Project Managers to manage project deliverables and budget, schedule and select project design teams, and assist with business development of the Affordable Housing practice group.  The ideal candidate has 15+ years of experience working in an architectural / engineering firm, experience managing projects, leading a team of Architects and Designers, and Affordable Housing project expertise.

  • Project Management: Assists in preparing project contracts and consults with the Managing Partner to present and administer.  Responsible for determining project scope, schedule, and design team budgets with guidance from the Managing Partner.  Maintains schedules and budgets on projects.
  • Marketing and Business Development: Assists in business development related activities as defined by the VP of Operations related to the development of the Affordable Housing practice group revenue goals and marketing plan.  Leads the marketing effort with business development and design staff to attract new clients and foster existing client relationships.
  • Client Engagement: Performs as Client Leader for the Affordable Housing Practice service and document production with Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering Staff, and independent consultants.
  • Design Coordination and Leadership: Leads and coordinates the design team through all phases of design and documentation.  Oversees all project documents for issuance to meet client’s development program and budget.
  • Staffing / Scheduling: Manages project team assignments and schedules for staff assigned to Affordable Housing projects.  Coordinates with the VP and other leaders for staffing/scheduling of projects across practice sites including team member availability and allocation.
  • Mentoring / Training / Developing: Acts as a general resource for architectural staff related to questions/concerns.  Provides mentoring opportunities for architectural design staff and advises senior leadership on training opportunities that would be beneficial for staff development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in architecture preferred.
  • Licensed and registered Architect preferred.
  • 15+ years’ related experience.
  • Must be proficient in Revit and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Certification or experience in sustainable building design a plus.
