Last month, BKV with local police departments, celebrated the groundbreaking on the renovation and expansion of the Pets Under Police Security Rescue Shelter.
Since 1991, this animal shelter for stray, lost, & surrendered animals, has worked to save 96% of the animals that enter its doors while serving nearly 190,000 residents across four municipalities in the growing northwest Twin Cities metro. The nearly 1,000-square-foot expansion will feature modernized containment spaces to increase capacity, updates to the existing facility, and a dedicated outdoor behavior assessment and exercise yard. This space is intentionally designed to give pets more crucial time out of their kennels, directly supporting their well-being while they await their forever homes.
