Wind River Hall

To meet the steadily growing demand for student housing, Western Wyoming Community College selected BKV Group to design an apartment-style residence life facility. The design team included a variety of contemporary amenities to meet student expectations. Wind River Hall offers students private bedrooms as part of larger living units. Suite-style four-bedroom clusters have a living room, kitchen, multiple bathrooms and private storage areas.

We also evaluated a number of options that would reduce energy consumption and facilitate competitive pricing, deciding to construct the envelope and interior structure from Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs). Using SIPs decreased the cost of construction, reduced the construction schedule, and allowed the mechanical systems to be downsized. The result is expected to reduce its demand for fossil fuels by at least 30%.
