Morrow Park City Apartments

Morrow Park City Apartments offers 210 units in a six-story podium building (five stories of wood-frame construction over one level of precast concrete). The project is a NAHB Green Building and contains 177 parking stalls in two levels of underground parking.

The modern design is geared toward young professionals. The architects drew influences from the broader mosaic and patchwork of Pittsburgh’s neighborhoods, especially Bloomfield’s many commercial establishments, distinctive homes, churches, and its immediate adjacency to Automobile Row.

The exterior is defined through an organic pattern of materials, such as smooth and corrugated metal, brick, steel, cement board, and glass, which are weaved together to create an industrial aesthetic that is both dynamic and familiar. The design anchors the important node at Liberty Avenue and Baum Boulevard and becomes a defining gateway into Bloomfield.
